In my ‘This Week I #20’ post, I mentioned about how i’d made some delicious brownies and a few of you asked how i’d made them and what recipe I had used, so I thought today i’d do something a little different by posting my first ever kind of recipe post.
Now I can’t take full credit for this recipe, as I did what most people do and turned to trusty old google (original recipe here) but I did do my own kinda thing also by not using certain ingredients, adding in a few of my own, and not really following the timings as I found they needed way longer than the instruction said.
Ingredients – (Recipe says for 20, but I got about around 10)
250g Unsalted Butter (I used just used normal butter)
200g Chocolate (I used both dairy, white and some random Cadburys I had lurking around)
80g Cocoa Powder
65g Plain Flour
300g Caster Sugar (Original recipe says 360g, which was far too much for my liking!)
4 Eggs
How to make these delicious brownies:
Step 1: Preheat oven too 180c/ 350f/ gas mark 4 and line square baking tray with grease proof paper.
Step 2: Using a glass bowl, placed over a sauce pan with boiling water begin to melt the chocolate and unsalted butter together until smooth. (Here you can add in any other ingredients, such as cherries, nuts etc).
Step 3: In a separate bowl, mix together the cocoa powder, flour and sugar. Then add the melted chocolate and butter and stir in well.
Step 4: Crack the eggs and add into the mixture, beating until you achieve a smooth consistency.
Step 5: Pour mixture into the baking tray that you previously lined with grease proof paper, and add in any last minute things such as chocolate chunks or marshmallows.
Step 6: Place in the centre of the oven for 25 minutes, then check the brownies to see how gooey they are. If you feel they need longer then leave them in the oven for a further 10 minutes. (In total I cooked mine for around 40 minutes, and they turned out perfect).
Step 7: Once cooked, leave the brownies to cool. Once cooled, remove them from the tray, cut up and tuck in!
So that’s my little chocolate brownie recipe. Adding in the chunks of white chocolate was such a nice touch, as I love white chocolate! I hope you guys enjoyed this kind of post, and i’d love to know if you’d want to see more posts like this.
