The Perfect Base..

It’s come to that time where it gets dark so early that my usual late night picture taking and post writing sessions are going to become a thing of the past, well until the summer roles back around. What with the weather changing, the base combo that i’m using is also changing and today I thought i’d talk to you about two of my favourite base products from autumn.

In the summer I love a good light coverage, that isn’t too dewy as it just looks like I have a really bad sweat on. Moving into the more colder months i’ll do anything to make my skin look that little more radiant and back out come the dewy finishes in order to mask any dullness.

My favourite dewy foundation (apart from the Rimmel Wake Me Up Foundation) is the Revlon Nearly Naked Foundation (£8.99). I picked this up earlier on in the year and immediately fell in love with the finish as it really brightened up my dull looking skin and just made me look a lot more energised in a way. The coverage on this is great for everyday wear, as it masks any redness and does a good job of hiding blemishes whilst evening out the skin tone. It also lasts really well, but you do have to spend that little extra time buffing this in.

As for concealer, I recently used up my Rimmel Wake Me Up Concealer and it will probably always remain my favourite but I wanted to branch out try out a new high street concealer. I opted for the L’oreal True Match Concealer (£6.99) after swatching it on the back of my hand and liking how the coverage seemed. It does an amazing job of hiding any blemishes that my foundation hasn’t, and it also covers any dark circles whilst also somewhat brightening up my under eye area.

These two products paired together is like a match made in heaven for me and I can see myself having to repurchase these a few times over the winter months.

What is your favourite foundation and concealer combo?
