With the weather being as beautiful as it has been these past couple of days it has got me thinking of Spring and the profucts that I will be bringing out for the warmer months, as a lot of products have either been too light or just not right for winter. So I thought today i’d share some products that i’ll definitely be reaching for over the coming months.
When I think of Spring, I think of pretty flowers and warm sunny days but I alo think towards the beauty products that i’ll be wearing. Often opting for lighter bases and prettier blush/lipstick shades, with less contouring and more matte eyeshadows, as I find a bronzey eye always works better in winter.
Starting off with the base that I know i’ll be loving this Spring, The Body Shop All-in-One BB Cream (£12). I picked this up around Christmas time and even though I initially loved it, it was just too light for the winter months. It’s a lovely BB cream and the coverage is actually really good for something as light as it is. I’ve got the lightest shade, which is a perfect match for my skin and I know i’ll definitely get a lot of wear out of this product.
Onto bronzers and blushers, which I wear all year round but certain shades get more love during the warmer months especially blushers. Two picks that I know will get a lot of love are the new Max Factor ‘Lovely Pink’ Creme Puff Blush (£7.99) and the Tarte ‘Peaceful’ Amazonian Clay Blush (£25), which are bo lovely pink blushers that give a lovely pop of colour to the cheeks. For contouring I tend to go a little more subtle and The Body Shop Honey Bronzer (£13) is great for that as it is both subtle and buildable. If you’re looking for a light contour then this is one to go for!
Onto the eyes and as I mentioned, I prefer a matte eye in the summer possibly eith a little shimmer but nothing like what I wear in the winter. A favourite of mine is the Makeup Revolution Essential Mattes 2 Palette* (£4), which is an all matte palette with mainly neutral tones so it’s perfect for the Spring months and it’s so affordable! Lastly is lips and a lipstick that I have been loving recently is MAC ‘Lovelorn’ Lipstick (£15.50), which I have raved about non stop. It is a lovely pretty pink, perfect for those who can’t pull off a nude lip but still want to try it out. I’m gutted that i’ve lost this lipstick, praying to the lipstick gods that I will find it!
