It’s been quite some time since I last did a ‘What’s in My Bag’ post and since i’ve now left uni, and have started a new job my bag set up has changed ever so slighty. I thought today it would be fun to update you all and to also show off my new bag, which I am obsessed with!
If you saw in a recent post, i’d recently picked up a new bag as a treat to myself as I needed a decent sized bag for work, not too big but also not so small as I sometimes have to take work home with me, which can include anything from fabric swatches to a huge wad of print outs.
When I first set eyes on this Topshop Marina Tote Bag (£42) I knew that I had to have it as it is so on trend with many designer tote bags that i’ve been lusting over but obviously cannot afford. It’s the perfect size to fit everything i’ll need for work and then some. I also really like it’s black, as I don’t actually own many black bags (shock!) and it’s also safe that it’ll go with any outfit that i’ll ever wear to work.
Now onto the contents and I don’t really carry all that much, not as much as some people but I try to keep it as simple as possible mainly because I don’t see the point in carrying a load of random crap that i’ll hardly ever use. Starting with the obvious, my car keys will always come with me to work as I have an hour commute to and from work everyday – so I really rely on my little Peugeot. Also with the weather changing, I always need a pair of sunglasses on me, especially for when i’m driving as the sun is always in my eyes. The pair i’ve been wearing a lot recently are these Primark Animal Sunglasses (£3), which are so chic and I love the design to them.
Stationary, a recent obsession of mine in my attempt to be more organised and i’m so glad that I finally picked up a diary and this Go Stationary A5 Diary (£8) has been a life saver at times and the size of it is really handy. Unfortunately you can’t buy this one anymore but they have some really cute stationary designs, so go check out Go Stationary. I also have really been getting into cute notebook designs and I this Mara Mi George Stanley Notebook, which I picked up from Home Sense as they have some super cute stationary in there at the moment.
Onto the technology, apple technology to be precise and I recently got myself an iPad Mini in gold and I love it! It makes everything so much easier, watching Youtube videos, tweeting and even writing blog posts as i’ve managed to type up a few posts on my iPad and although it can be testing at times, it is doable. I need to get myself a case for it, so if you know of any cute ones then let me know! I also always have my iPhone 5 on me as everyone does but I also use the sat nav on it when I often get lost as there is constant road closures around where I work and not being that familiar with the area can be quite difficult at times. I really want to upgrade to an iPhone 6 when my contract is up, do any of you have the iPhone 6?
Last few things now and my purse is always a necessity, even though I work in the middle of nowhere, we sometimes do sandwich runs especially on Fat Friday. My purse is an old Whistles Purse and I love it, so much that I have a back up for when this one eventually breaks or becomes really dirty. It’s so spacious and holds everything that i’ll need! When clearing out my bag I found a good stash of MAC Lipstick (£15.50) in various shades as I am obsessed with lipstick at the moment, i’ve really gotten back into wearing lipstick and i’m just loving it at the moment. Lastly, is some chewing gum (boring) but a necessity!
So that is what I carry in my work bag! I hope you enjoyed this post, as I love a good nose into what people carry in there bags and I know some of you do too!
What things do you carry around in your work bag?
