When it comes to lip liners, my collection isn’t that extensive mainly because i’ve not felt the need to branch out into lip liners that much but the few that I do own I use all of the time. Having said that, when it comes to lip liners the few that I own I can only wear with a small proportion of my lipstick collection, which as you can imagine is verging on ridiculous, so I thought today i’d share all about the new lip liners from Makeup Revolution and why you need them!
For a lipstick addict like me, you’d expect my lip liner collection to be pretty solid but if i’m honest i’d rarely ever used lip liners, mainly because I never really understood the need for them until I started seeing some of my favourite beauty youtubers using them regularly in their videos and slowly I started to see why you do need a good lip liner or two in your collection. As I mentioned, out of the lip liners I own I can only wear about a third of my lipstick collection with them and i’d really needed to hunt down some good budget lip liners, so when the new Makeup Revolution Lip Liner Collection landed on my doorstep, I knew my search was over.
The Makeup Revolution Lip Liners* (£1) come in eight different shades, all of which are suitable to be mixed and matched with every lipstick shade anyone would ever own and i’m so happy to finally be able to wear a lip liner with my true pink shades. The pigmentation of these lip liners are really good and the formula is really creamy, actually they come close in consistency to one of my MAC lip liners, which just shows you don’t have to splash out on a lip liner. As I use these under my lipstick, I find they last as long as the lipstick does, which for me is quite a while but they do leave your lips with a good amount of stain so it’s not really noticeable if you’re not on top of topping up your lipstick throughout the day. What is also handy is that each pencil comes with a sharpener in the lid, so you never have to worry, especially if you’re on the go.
Now, onto the shades themselves, from left to right. Firstly is Vamp, which as you can imagine is your deep purple shade that you’d probably get away with under a dark red lipstick also. Personally I wouldn’t wear this one, as I don’t own any dark enough shades. Next is Rebel, which is actually the perfect colour to pair with MAC’s Rebel but also any deep plum shade, this is one of my favourites! Next is Cherry Red, which is a pinky red shade that can be worn under both reds and pinks, so perfect two in one really. I’ve been wearing this one a lot, and love it! Next is Bold Pink, as the name suggests this works well with any bright/true pinks.
Moving onto the more nude shades and the ones I wouldn’t wear that much of but are still great shades. Soft Pink, again as the name suggests works well with any light pinks or pink nude shades. Next is Baby Pink, which is ever so slightly lighter than the previous shade but again great for any nude pinks. Nearly Naked, as the name suggests is for any true nudes but is way too white for me and i’m not sure what sort of shades you’d pair this one with. Finally we have The One, which is the perfect nude lip liner and would work under so many different nudes – probably why it’s called The One!
Overall i’m really impressed with these new lip liners from Makeup Revolution and if you’re on the hunt for some lip liners that won’t break the bank, then i’d highly recommend trying out these.
Have you tried out any of these new lip liners?
