Fitness: Light Gym Makeup Picks

One topic I think that definitely separates opinions is girls wearing makeup to the gym, and frankly you can do what you want. If you want to go all out glam, then you do you boo but personally for me I will wear enough to feel comfortable and reduce the appearance of my tomato face, but not too much that my eyebrows are dripping off my face. I thought i’d incorporate my two favourite things and share my favourite makeup picks for the gym.

fitness, makeup

I don’t know about you, but part of me couldn’t care less what I look like in the gym because i’m going to leave sweating my t*ts off regardless but granted, i’m not my most confident when i’m bare faced and pale (lol). I mean, I think at least 90% of gals can agree with me that the tiniest bit of makeup can give you such a confidence boost and being in the gym can also be quite intimidating as it is, so a light layer is enough to set me up for a good workout!

When it comes to base, I keep this very light but still with enough coverage to hide any blemishes or acne scarring that I have, and to reduce the appearance of my red hot face. For concealer, i’ve really been enjoying the Makeup Revolution Conceal & Define Concealer (£4) which has absolutely amazing coverage but feels so light on the skin! For foundation, a long term firm favourite of my has been the Bourjois 123 Perfect CC Cream (£9.99) because it has such good coverage but feels so light on the skin. This CC cream I typically wear a lot during the summer and also when on holiday, because you don’t always want to be wearing a really heavy layer of foundation when you’re in hot conditions and I find it stays put so well, even through a sweaty cardio session!

Typically I don’t do any contouring or blush because, I mean what’s the point but I do give my face a light dusting of setting powder just to try and keep the shine at bay. For a while now i’ve been using the Vichy Dermablend Setting Powder* (£17.99) which is essentially a white translucent powder, but I find it’s one of the best i’ve ever used. Although it can be slightly messy, it sets my foundation really well but doesn’t in turn dry out my skin either.

Moving onto the eye region, and for me eyebrows I can take or leave in the gym as long as i’ve given them a good tint. Having said that, I do sometimes feel the need for a something something, and the Benefit Goof Proof Brow Pencil (£20.50) is hands down one of my favourite products for quick brows. It adds colour and definition, but also literally takes seconds to fill them in, which personally for me in a winner. Finally for mascara, I do typically use the first one I grab but I have been loving the Maybelline Lash Sensational Mascara (£8.99) as I find it coats the lashes well but isn’t too heavy, as some mascaras that are more heavy and wet have a tendency to end up half way down your face during a workout (queue the panda eye look!).

So those are five products that I typically use for a light makeup look when having a killer gym session!
