With 2018 now being a memory for all of us, I thought before I get into new content I wanted to reflect a little on 2018 beauty wise as i’ve not shared a favourites post in a very very long time, and if i’m honest i’ve missed sharing with you the products i’ve been loving. So in true blogger style i’m bringing you a little summary of my 2018 favourites.
During 2018 I didn’t really explore beauty all that much and stuck to some holy grails, but here are a few of my 2018 favourites..
Starting off with probably the two products that have transformed my skin over the last few months, because this is a miracle in itself after suffering the worst chin/neck acne for as long as I can remember. I remember back in the day when I loved the Liz Earle Cleanse and Polish but I didn’t like it’s price tag enough to repurchase it over and over, until I found that Aldi had brought out a dupe (or an exact copy, but who cares) for a fraction of the price. The Lacura Hot Cloth Cleanser (£3.99) has been an absolute saviour over the last few months, so much so i’ve already purchased another because god knows if they’ll make this product permanent. To go with that i’ve been using my Magnitone Barefaced Shimmer Cleansing Brush( (£90) which i’ve had in my stash for a while but I was convinced that this would cause my breakouts to be much worse, but how wrong I was! Day and night I use this and my skin couldn’t thank me anymore if it tried!
Another skincare product that I treated myself to back in November was the Clinique Moisture Surge Moisturiser (£36) and boy oh boy was I late to the game with this one! Not only do I love this moisturiser but my skin soaks it up like theres no tomorrow and it leaves my skin not only glowing but looking so hydrated. I also find it makes a great base for my foundation, and hands down my favourite discovery of 2018 was the Estee Lauder Double Wear Foundation (£33.50). I put off giving into the foundation for years because I always thought it was really cakey but i’ve come to learn that this foundation works how you want it to depending on how you layer it and for me a little goes a long way. I love how it makes my skin look glowy and healthy but it’s also great at hiding any pesky blemishes I have lingering around. Definitely recommend anyone gets on the bandwagon with this one!
When it comes to playing around a little more with my makeup looks, two products i’ve used a lot to add a little extra glow and sparkle are the Charlotte Tilbury Wonder Glow Primer* (£38.50) and my favourite palette of all time the TooFaced Sweet Peach Palette (£49). Typically on a day to day I don’t use these products but for nights out or dates night I opt for these two products a lot. The primer is amazing at giving your skin that extra dewy glow without you looking like a hot mess, and makes any highlight just pop that little more. In terms of the palette, it’s just an easy go to as I have a few fail safe combinations that I know will do wonders even when i’m in a rush.
Finally the last two products that got a lot of love this year were, the Benefit Bad Gal Bang Mascara* (£21.50) which I raved about in this post and i’m still loving this nearly ten months on because it’s just fab and works wonders fro my lashes! And finally, the last product has to of course be the Giorgio Armani Si Passione Perfume (£71) which has been a go to for many months now and i’m surprised i’ve not used this up as of yet!
So those are just a few 2018 favourites i’ve loved through 2018 and will continue to love well into 2019!
