I’m blown away that as i’m typing this post tomorrow is the first day of 2019 and what a year this year has been! In true new year style I wanted to somewhat recap on the goals I set for this year, and set myself more goals to work towards into 2019 both within my personal life but also in terms of blogging.
2018 for me was the year that I fully embraced life in so many ways and i’m leaving 2018 the happiest i’ve been in a very long time.
Looking back at the goals I set myself last year in this post, I have actually managed to achieve the majority of them even if some are still on going. I’ve achieved some amazing things this past year including losing nearly 2 stone in weight which has massively boosted my confidence so much so that i’ve allowed myself to yes to so much more than I would a year ago. I’ve travelled to some beautiful places and made some really strong friendships over this past year, and it’s safe to say i’ve got some amazing people around me. Though some amazing things have happened this year, that isn’t to say it’s been a plane sailing and i’ve had a few hardships and tough times but i’m excited to see what 2019 has to bring.
So now onto the goals I want to work towards in 2019…
Blog Goals
Attempt to rekindle my love for blogging – It’s safe to say I fully fell out of love with blogging this year as I realised it consumed a lot of my time and meant I was saying ‘no’ to a lot of things when in fact I just wanted to enjoy my life. However blogging is still something I absolutely adore and isn’t something i’ll be letting go of but I do want to get back into a routine of some sort and rekindle the passion I once had for it.
Give my blog a little makeover – I’ve had my current theme now for just around a year and although I still love it, I just think a little makeover may help spur on some creative juices and make me want to get back into blogging. I kind of want to give my blog a more classy look so no doubt once the first few months of 2019 are out of the way i’ll look to give my blog a little refresh.
Try to be more present on social media – One thing that also has taken a massive back seat in 2018 was my presence across my blogs social media, purely because I don’t have much free time throughout the day and when I do I spend it on my personal accounts. Having said that I want to try to interact more, especially when it comes to commenting on blog posts i’ve loved as I rarely even do that anymore and interacting through Instagram.. looks like I won’t be cutting down my screen time much then!
Life Goals
Travel and explore more – When I say travel I don’t mean going on lavish 5* holidays but I do want to explore more in 2019. Whether that be travelling within the UK or taking shorter weekend style breaks within Europe on more of a budget, it’s definitely something I want to do as i’ve loved travelling over the past couple of years.
Continue pushing myself in the gym – Fitness for me now is 100% a part of my life and I wouldn’t know where i’d be without it. 2018 really saw my love for fitness grow and i’m so proud of how far i’ve come. I mean I couldn’t even do a sit up without it hurting my back, nor was I able touch my toes without bending my knees and now i’m doing both of those with no issues. I’m not really sure on any specific fitness goals as such but I do want to work towards working on PB’s but all I know is that I want to continue pushing myself and my body.
Saving (again) – In my 2018 goals post I vowed i’d ‘save the hardest i’ve ever saved’ and although I did save a fair amount in 2018, I kinda let myself down when it came to going ‘out out’ a lot and spending money on things I really didn’t need but hey ho, life happens. Going into 2019 I really do want to focus on saving and making it a priority within my life but we will see on that one..
Cut down on screen time – Now I know this is going to be a tricky one given my earlier goal of being a little more present on social media, but the amount that I use my phone is just ridiculous. Over the Christmas period I was averaging at around 7 hours a day.. yes you read correctly, which even I’m a little ashamed to admit and to be honest it needs to stop!
So those are just a few goals I want to work towards in 2019 and i’m sure as the year goes on further goals will appear.
I just want to say a massive thank you to everyone who has read my blog this year as I know i’ve been a little all over the place but I hope to see this little place on the internet grow a little more in 2019!
Happy New Year!
