Hand Luggage Beauty Essentials

*AD-GIFT (This post contains gifted/PR items)

As I mentioned in one of my previous hand luggage traveling post, I mentioned that I was going to do a separate post sharing what beauty products and liquid based products I was taking on holiday with me as we all know narrowing down what liquids to pack when travelling with just hand luggage can be an absolute faff.

Struggling to narrow down your hand luggage beauty products? Here are my tips!

Now as most of you will know, when it comes to travelling with just hand luggage you face restrictions in terms of what liquids you can take. As I mentioned in my previous post, you cannot take liquid products over 100ml and you have to be able to fit them all into one small clear plastic bag which further limits you to how much you can take. Fortunately most brands now offer products specifically under 100ml which is a massive help, but you also have to remember that certain products such as mascara and brow pomades are considered a liquid so remember to be as organised as you can.

Makeup Products

When packing my makeup products, in terms of liquids I try to take the necessities including foundation, concealer, mascara, brow products and maximum x2 lip colours. Otherwise any other products I try to pack non liquid products, i.e powders or pencil products.

Starting with base products I’m taking my daily go to foundation the Estee Lauder Double Wear Foundation (£34) and my also daily go to concealer the Collection Lasting Perfection Concealer (£4.19). I typically use another foundation of a darker shade to mix with my double wear, however I’ve chosen to pick this up once I’ve passed through security as I need to pick up another anyway. Other liquid products I’ve chosen to take are the Marc Jacobs Velvet Noir Mascara* (£22) which I absolutely love for giving my lashes some much needed volume. For brows i’m taking my trusty Makeup Revolution Brow Pomade (£6) which I purchased following after my ABH Dip Brow ran out and I actually prefer this product in comparison as it’s much less creamy, and much easier to work with. The last makeup product I have packed is the MAC Whirl Lipstick (£17.50) as I seem to be wearing the shade to death at the moment as it goes with every makeup look I seem to be putting together.

Moving onto powder makeup products, and here you can take as much as you like but again I try to be a bit as streamlined as possible more for space reasons. For bronzer I typically use the Charlotte Tilbury Film Star Bronze & Glow* (£49) and I then top up my glow with the Too Faced Chocolate Bronzer (£25). For blusher I’ve been using an old favourite, the Benefit Rockater Blusher (£26) as it has a lovely shimmer to it that just pops. Similarly to lip products, I’ve chosen a go to palette that I know I can use for any occasion and to create many different makeup looks. My go to palette of choice is the Too Faced Sweet Peach Palette (£49) as it has so many shades making is such a versatile palette. Finally to finish off my makeup looks and to help keep the shine at bay, I’ve been using the Rimmel #Insta Fix & Matte Powder* (£4.99).

Body Products and Other Essentials

Moving onto the other products that I have packed, all of which are miniatures and fab for travelling! Firstly I picked up a Travel Size Batiste Dry Shampoo (£1.50) because I can’t function without this stuff, it is literally my number one hair product. Another necessity I picked up a Nivea Anti-Perspirant Deodorant (£1.50) because it’s gonna be hella warm in Rome! As Superdrug currently have a 3for2 on all travel mini’s, I also picked up a Mini Simple Moisturising Face Wash (£1.50) as I hadn’t even considered that I didn’t have any cleanser samples within my beauty stash! Finally the last skincare product that I’ve packed is the Nivea Moisturising Day Cream* (£4.10) because I cannot travel without a moisturiser.

One product that you can take or leave but if you’re a lover of fake tan like myself, then you too will be thrilled that St Moritz now do a travel sized tan! Yes, a travel sized tan! I picked up the St Moriz Dark Tan Mousse 50ml (£4.50) and although really it’ll only last one use, it’s fab for a short trip where you’ll only want to top up your tan on the last couple of days! Speaking of tanning or in my case burning, many brands now do travel sized SPF’s which is amazing for when you’re only travelling for a few days! I managed to get my hands on some Hawain Tropics Sachets which has made the packing of liquids so much easier as they take up barely any space!

Finally the last two essentials i’ve packed are of course a Mini Colgate Max Fresh Toothpaste (£1.50) because its a given, and also perfume! Now for perfume, unless you have testers it can be quite hard to take your favourite perfume on holiday with you. Let me welcome you to the Scent Addict Subscription* (£12 per month), where you essentially receive a refillable travel size atomiser (30ml) of a chosen fragrance that is designed to last you 30 days. What is also great, is once you’ve used up the fragrance you can reuse the atomiser with your already purchased perfumes!

So those are the products I have packed whilst travelling with hand luggage to Rome, and I hope this post gives you some tips on when it comes to packing your beauty essentials!
