Festive Party Makeup Picks

*AD-GIFT (This post contains gifted/PR items)

With Christmas party season in full swing, and it being my own Christmas party this coming week I wanted to share a good ol’ fashioned festive party makeup edit. It’s been a while since I shared an all makeup post with you, purely because my day to day makeup doesn’t change all that much, but with some new in products to talk about, I thought it was perfect timing.

makeup, beauty, christmas, festive party makeup,

Tis the season to sparkle! Check out my fave festive party makeup picks..

I love this time of year, because it is the perfect excuse to add a little bit of extra sparkle to everything and i’m so excited to talk a little more about some new in products that I featured in my recent gift guide post. So let’s get into it!

Base, Contour & Highlight

Starting off with base, contour and highlighting products as these are the products I always begin with. I know some people often start with the eyeshadow, but this is just the order in which I apply my products. Primer for me is product I typically don’t use, but one that I would recommend trying if you haven’t already is the Charlotte Tilbury Wonderglow Primer* (£39). It’s fab for adding a little extra radiance to your base and I do find it helps to keep your makeup in place, especially for an evening glam look! For foundation, for me it’s always Estee Lauder Double Wear (£28.90) but I do mix this with a darker shade of a cheaper high street foundation as I often fake tan but my double wear is matched to my natural skin tone. I just bloody love double wear and have done ever since I first sampled this a year or so back now. I do want to find an alternative that is cheaper, but none that I have tried have quite live up to the coverage and longevity of double wear.

For contour, again it’s got me Filmstar Charlotte Tilbury Bronze & Glow* (£49). If you haven’t tried this product, then you need to. There is no questions about it! It’s an amazing duo product that gives such a natural yet sculpted contour and the highlighter is just stunning. If you’re worried about the price of this product, take it from me when I say it’s worth every penny! I’ve had this palette for almost two years now (potentially rank I know) and i’ve only just hit pan on the bronzer shade, and I use this everyday so it definitely lasts! Another highlight product that i’ve been lovingggg for the added sparkle is the CYO Shimmer Switch Bronzing & Highlighting Palette* (£5). This beaut multi shade highlighter is fab, because it mixes a few different shades to make the most stunning highlight that make your cheeks just pop! What is also fab is the price of this, absolute bargain if I do say so myself! Finally the last product to mention is blusher, and I can sometimes take or leave blusher but i’ve recently rediscovered an old favourite. The NYX Baked Blusher (£?) is again another product I love to use to add a little extra shimmer. I just apply the smallest amount onto the apples of my cheeks and I just find the baked element to this to be less dry than full on powder blushers.

Eyes & Lips

Moving onto the best bits, eyeshadow and lippies! Eyeshadow for me is a product I don’t typically wear on a daily basis so I get super excited when i’m doing a proper evening makeup look! I have a couple of palettes that I love to use, and a recent addition into my palette collection is the Diego Dalla Palma Go Crazy Palette* (£29.50) which is unfortunately sold out but may be available in store. I absolutely love the shades within this palette as they are so fun and have some beautiful glittery shades to get all festive and sparkly with! Another palette which is an oldie but a goodie, the Huda Beauty Obsessions Palette Mauve (£25). The shades within this are so festive and I absolutely love the glitter shades within this palette! If eyeshadow palettes aren’t your thing but you still love a single pan eyeshadow, a favourite of mine is the CYO Crush on Metallic Eyeshadow* (£4). This is such a beaut metallic shadow that its fab for wearing all over the lid for a quick and easy festive eyeshadow option.

Finally onto two products from the new Lancome Holiday Collection! If you’ve read my blog for a while, you’ll know how much I love the Lancome Hypnoses Drama Mascara* (£25.50) and i’m so happy they’ve repackaged this for Christmas! Unfortunately this has sold out online, but regardless of the festive packaging this mascara is just amazing! It gives amazing volume and lift to my lashes, and i’m just so happy to have this back in my makeup stash! Lastly we have the Lancome L’Absolu Rouge Lipstick* (£27) in the shade Rose Nu, which is a beaut nude shade that is super moisturising. They also have a true festive red shade within this collection but I am a nude lipstick girl through and through!

So those are some festive makeup picks for you! Hope you all have a wonderful time at any festive parties you’re attending this year, and I hope you enjoy getting as sparkly and festive as I do!

What are your festive party plans?
